About Community Annotations
This is the Community Annotation section of the dictyBase website. In these Wiki pages, we encourage users to contribute any comments, data, or any other information about Dictyostelium genes or gene products. The information you enter here will be valuable to the research community and we hope these Wiki pages foster collaboration and increased communication amongst Dicty colleagues.
To start contributing, find your gene of interest using the search box on the left.
FAQ
How can I find the gene I am interested in?
The best way to find the page for your gene is to go to the Gene Page in dictyBase, usually by typing the gene name in the search box in the upper right hand corner of every page. On the Gene Page, the Community Annotations links are located at the top, in the 'General Information' section.
If someone has already contributed a community annotation there will be three links:
- A link to view the community annotation ('View Annotation for rtoA' in the screenshot). Clicking on this link will bring you to a wiki page where you can view the community annotations that have been contributed by a member of the Dicty community.
- A link to contribute a community annotation ('Add Annotation for rtoA' in the screenshot). Clicking on this link will allow you to contribute annotations via a wiki editing form. For more help on this, see the next section: [How do I add my own annotations]
- A link to this help page ('Community Annotations Help' in the screenshot)
If no community annotations currently exist, link #1 ('View Annotations') will be absent, and you will only see links to 'Add annotations' and 'Community Annotations Help'
What kind of information can I include in Community Annotations?
You can include any scientific information that you wish to share with the Dicty community a community annotations page.
