PakH - one of four PAK-like kinases in D. discoideum

The PAK-like subfamily is part of the larger family of Ste20-like kinases in D. discoideum (see sevkin for more on Ste20-like kinases).

The PAK-like subfamily is specific for D. discoideum and the kinase domains of its members PakE, PakF, PakG and PakH, are closer related to GCKs as to PAKs. They contain a possible regulatory domain C-terminal to the kinase domain and, additionally, contain a N-terminal regulatory domain with a functional PDB/CRIB domain characteristic for PAKs (Goldberg et al., 2006).

The Schleicher group is currently investigating the knockout phenotype of PakH.
